New York S/S 10: Rodarte
Rodarte gave us a state of ruin for S/S. The collection was very gothic and dark, which even though as you know I love anything pretty and ladylike, I really enjoyed this collection. I think it was due to the fact that it was dramatic, unexpected and a bit fantastical. The pieces looked ruined but they still looked beautiful because of the creativity and drama behind them. The pieces looked worn and were ripped, torn and basically 'destroyed', which gave a very powerful look. The mix-match of prints added to the effect and they merged perfectly without having that 'jumble sale' look. This was an exciting, dark and creative show. I loved it.
