New York S/S 10: Cynthia Rowley
Cynthia Rowley's collection was worn, torn and whimsical. The floral prints were faded, the sleeves of an elegant shift dress were frayed and looked like they had been cut off, a beautiful cream dress had a black disintegrating neckline, reminiscent of burning paper and cropped jumpers looked like they had been grown out of. This all added to the magic of this collection. It was thoughtfully put together but looked like they had been pieces in your wardrobe that you had tried to customise or had worn lovingly for years but still managed to look fresh. My favourite piece was the cream dress with the disintegrated neckline worn with a black belt. The cream palette looked summery against fur jackets and shiny black leggings and the faded florals added to the cinderella theme.
