New York Fashion Week S/S 10: Vena Cava
Sophie Buhai and Lisa Mayock the design duo behind Vena Cava showed their collection at Milk in NY. They were runners up of the CFDA - Vogue Fashion Fund, so recieved monetary help for their brand as well as the mentorship of Patrick Robinson (Gap Creative Director). Their collection this season drew influences from a South African tribe's wall murals to Versace's saftey pins. The tribal influence was seen in LBD's with a tribal red and white collar and soft flowing prints. There was also a taste of rock 'n' roll chic with leather trousers but made softer with long and sheer fluid tops. Whilst, subtle camouflaging added to a safari look. The overall feel of the collection was clean, elegant and stylish.
