New York S/S 10: Chado Ralph Rucci

There was some excellent craftmanship and detailing on show here. There was a variety in styles, shapes, colours but they all blended together effortlessly and made you anticipate what was coming next. There were many skirtsuits and trouser suits but they all had that something extra such as sheer inserts, braiding and were beautifully fitted. I really liked the high collars on them as it gave a more sophisticated finish. The dresses were the highlight of the collection for me. I loved the ostrich feathers on some of the dresses and the sheer panels and inserts, the use of paillettes added glamour to the dresses especially to the gold and black floor-length dress with the gold and black square blocks. The shift dresses were also made very well especially the softly flared nude dress. This collection oozed traditional elegance but with modern twists, sometimes you just can't go wrong with exceptional craftmanship.
