I've just finished reading the second issue of LOVE Magazine. I really enjoyed the 1st one so I was really anticipating this issue especially as its produced biannually so it was indeed a long wait. The theme for the issue was the young and reckless and everyone featured in the magazine is under 21. When I first saw this I thought yet another magazine with a bunch of celebrity offspring. But, after reading Katie Grand's editors letter I realised that is not it at all anyone under 21 is applicable as long as you are passionate about something...anything.
My favourite parts of the magazine were the following:
Tavi: The 13 year old blog royalty was interviewed by Pixie Geldof, Tavi is adorable. I had a little peek at her blog she really understands and loves fashion but not just superficially which is very good.
Taylor Momsen: Allegra Versace Beck interviewed her, quite a good interview by Allegra and focused more on Taylor than her role in GG, so more music based which was a change.
Sasha Grey: Pornstar... Really informative feature paired with beautiful pictures of Sasha. Also, she didn't come across as a stereotypical pornstar which was a surprise she's very articulate about her foray into the sex industry and knows what she wants from her career.
This issue also made me think how much I want to succeed and get what I want from my future career. So many of the people in the issue ie. Pixie Geldof, Allegra, The Willis sisters etc have had such amazing opportunities getting to interview and do internships in amazing magazines and its so much harder for fashion students to do that as we aren't 'celebs' but its just made me more determined to be where I want to be and at least at the end of it I know that it was only hard work that got me there...
