New York S/S 10: Derek Lam
A very bold collection, including a wide array of colours, trends, details, silhouettes and shapes. Overall, the theme was quite ladylike and patriotic quite a few stars and stripes in there. In terms of colour, the palette was very bright and bold which was very refreshing, when nudes and pastels were used they were teamed with brights which had a very good effect especially in the two-tone dresses. Teals, limes, acid blue, orange/reds, and a few nudes all took centre stage. The prints used were stars, stripes, graphics and florals. The stand out pieces for me were the dark denim zip through dress with the brown belt. Derek Lam definately gave New York an injection of colour.
