New York S/S 10: Carolina Herrera
Youthful Sophistication. A rich colour palette of, burnt orange, aubergine, bronze, deep purple and soft metallics. There was an emphasis on feminine suits, such as short and skirt suits. The shorts were worn with tailored jackets with soft details or prints and often belted. The effect was pretty, stylish and functional designed for days in Spring when you need to look sophisticated but still youthful. The opening look with the woven, cut out jacket emphasised how good the seperates were. Burnt orange and printed jackets with high collared necks were seen with mid calf skirts in the same print. Some of my favourite pieces were the soft aubergine, bustier playsuit with jewel detail. I also loved the closing dress on Magdalena which was one shouldered, deep purple and textured.
