New York Spring/Summer 2011: Vena Cava

My first review for Spring/Summer 2011. This is the first of many for this month of beautiful fashion. I look forward to Vena Cava every season, and this was a perfect way to start the proceedings. It looks like the maxi length will be staying with us for next season. They were brought up to date in sumptuous silks, lightweight fabrics and effortlessly flowed. One of my favourite looks, teamed an aqua maxi skirt with a slate vest and a black, rope belt... perfect. The show was aesthetically simple and flushes of orange added a wonderful vibrancy to the collection. Maxi's aside; flared jumpsuits, tailored playsuits, crop tops and a lovely short suit with a hint of midriff waltzed down the runway. I was particularly fond of the dungarees paired with a sheer blouse. This sparked visions of 1940's land girls instead of other various dungaree connotations.
