New York Spring/Summer 2011: Costello Tagliapietra

Robert Tagliapietra and Jeffrey Costello are one of my favourite design duos... plus they are just too adorable. This collection cemented their strength as designers, and proved that they really know what women want to wear. It is really hard to try and look ladylike, elegant and sophisticated in the sweltering summer season. The neutral hued dresses they showed will do just that. The details included drop-waists, soft drapery and slight ruching. Every single piece could easily slot in to form a wonderful spring capsule wardrobe. The painterly prints provided a good contrast to the beginning of the show, although I preferred the neutral looks.
