New York Spring/Summer 2011: Ruffian

One of the best feelings in the world is looking through a collection and getting butterflies. Yes, it might be sad but fashion just has that impact on me. Especially this collection, I truly adored every piece that came down the catwalk. There was a hint of military; with khaki green, boxed jackets and tell tale gold buttons. The stars of the collection had to be the colours. Their vibrancy made them pop amongst the expertly tailored and elegant pieces. The royal blues and bright whites sparkled and made the collection beautiful. One of my favourite looks is a royal blue silk blouse tucked into a white pencil skirt. The look oozed glamourous sex appeal. Flared skirts offset the masculinity of the military jackets. The cream trench coats were slightly oversized and which created a different look. The addition of prints were unexpected but very welcome and added a different dimension. The black graphic dresses and leopard print blouses were lovely. Amazing collection.
