New York Spring/Summer 2011: Cushnie et Ochs

I love when designers play with the season, and use heavier fabrics/textures for spring. Carly Cushnie and Michelle Ochs, did just that with this collection. The use of leather worked very well, and the collection had a dark yet deliciously beautiful feel to it. The leather was soft enough for spring, with dresses and pleated skirts. The waterfall blazers looked perfect as did the distressed tees. The collection used very clean shapes and had a minimalist look. Dainty prints still managed to look edgy and thoroughly modern. I loved the dresses with the slight draping, although simplistic they are a buyers dream.
