Worth: Paris Couture A/W 10
Charles Frederick Worth, is arguably one of the most important people in fashion history. In the 1860's the British couturier worked at the court of Napolean III. Worth wanted to make Paris the centre of Fashion. By dressing royalty and the upper classes with his lavish and beautiful dresses, he created haute couture. It feels so surreal that I am writing about a Worth collection, as if I have time travelled into the past. Giovanni Bedin has created this collection and the wonderful collection gives a glimpse into a small section of costume history. I have posted all of the looks, as they are so beautiful. They aren't modern, which would have been nice to see Worth translated for the women of 2010. But, you can't take that away from them, they are what they are. They are replicas of a history that started the very idea of couture and fashion. They are truly reminders of a beautiful past.
