Elie Saab: Paris Couture Week A/W 10

The most romantic evening dresses are always seen at Elie Saab and this collection was no exception. The colour palette of deep red, mink, soft gold and dark mint was delicious. The sparkle made me squeal in delight, couture makes me do funny, funny things. The deep red dresses varied from loose and floor length, voluminous shoulders with thigh high splits, plunging necklines and sumptuous velvet. The minky olive looks were heavily embellished, one shouldered and included the goddess of all jumpsuits. The minty looks incorporated texture, much more embellishments and little ruffles. This was followed by a plethora of amazing soft gold pieces that included Grecian influences, sequins, and skirt suits. Inked prints came next and they showed the essence of the collection. It was as if the dresses had waltzed into an artists studio and had been painted into works of art. The large number of spectacular evening dresses followed, in the same tones as the beginning of the collection and highlighted how well Elie does romanticism.
