From Vintage to Jewellery: Websites of the Month

The web is awash with shopping sites. I am a traditional ASOS, Net-A-Porter, and online-version-of-high-street-shop website kinda girl. But, from time to time I come across some little gems. For me, a shopping website needs to have an easypeasy layout and lovely little pictures. So here are my top 4 websites for the delightful month of August.

This website has some amazing handmade jewellery and also stocks accessories, bags and homeware. I like unique pieces of costume jewellery that have been carefully made. High street jewellery is fab, but you can guarantee that you will spot at least 10 other people with that Topshop necklace. This site has some quirky pieces on there such as red riding hood necklaces and fortune cookie earrings.

Vintage is all about the thrill of the fashionhunt. Finding those enviable pieces amongst racks and racks of nothingness. Online vintage shopping leaves you with that same feeling over and over again. Instead of spending hours trawling through dust (got to love it though). We may as well trawl in the comfort of our homes. This site has the vintage that you wait a lifetime for. 70's Chanel, 60's Balenciaga and 90's Yves Saint Laurent all fight in cyberspace to be bought. If you want a treat and to take a trip down fashion memory lane look no further.

OK, I'm a little obsessed with cute jewellery right now. I love this site. They have vintage and vintage inspired jewellery and just the loveliest things. I want the typewriter necklace and the scrabble ring very much indeed. I love the simple layout of this site and the multiple product images, with shots of people(celebs) wearing them. To get an idea of product size.

Buying beauty products can be rather stressful. With so many brands and products, it's so hard finding products that work. Most brands do offer samples but it's good to find other people who use the product to see what they think. So, here we have Make Up Alley. An online community of beauty addicts. The site is full of reviews of every product you can possibly imagine. There are scores, ratings and pics and reviews from often hundreds of people for certain products. Mascara, eyeliner, facial wash and foundations are some of the things that face the harsh spotlight. Definitely a good place to visit when in beauty doubt.

Juicy Couture Does Cupcakes

Today I spent my day preparing  for my birthday extravaganza. Involving me making 24 cupcakes (pics coming soon). I napkin folded, table prepared, piped frosting, and made goody bags all for the sake of my 20th. While I am waiting for the besties to arrive, I thought I would do some window shopping of the online sort. I decided to have a peek at ASOS as I haven't paid them a visit for a while.

As my eyes lingered over the snoods, jeggings and shoeboots I came across this beauty. It said Juicy Couture - £57.00 which I had to read thrice. I am not a huge fan of Juicy, I loved them when I was younger but it is another brand that have been sucked into the Kingdom of Chavdom. Along with Burberry, Playboy Merchandise and dare I say it Tiffany & Co. Although I still love Tiffany <3. So back to the necklace, it is divine but that's obvious as I love a bit of silver, pink and cake. So it's pefect. Hmmm... Christmas present me thinks so.

These are a few of my favourite things...

'When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feeling sad, I simply remember my favourite things and then I don't feel so bad...' Here are my 3 favourite things of the moment, that I am wearing constantly. Plus giving me the chance to play with my camera (which by the way is superduper).

Topshop: I bought these earrings on the way to work this week, because how can a girl go to Topshop without buying anything. I love them as they can transform a simple day outfit and add a little glamour. They look equally stunning for night too. They are soon becoming my favourite pair of earrings... of November at least.

Vintage at Kingsly Court: Well it's a bow ring and I love bows so there's not really much to be said. It's just adorable really, it doesn't look very vintage to me but I got it from a vintage shop in Kingsly Court, I forgot the name, but it's next to Cafe Ici downstairs. If it is vintage it is probably only a few years old... which I guess these days is still vintage. It was only £8 which makes it even more special.

Mulberry: I had to decide if I wanted this brooch or the heart prefect style one, but I chose this has it is big and I quite like big safety pins. The heart brooch is adorable but it's tiny. I use this mainly to tie up scarves, knitted cardigans and on my tweed jacket. It really adds an extra dimension to a look and really stands out. Mulberry is love.
