Zac Posen
"Where do you see yourself in 10 years?" In an apartment in Greenwich Village, NY wearing this collection. I have already highlighted, which looks I want and the occasions where I will be wearing them. One of the remarkable evening gowns has The Met Gala written all over it. The collection of form-fitting pieces, focused on emphasising the silhouette of the body. There was an old glamour feel with corsets, pencil skirts and the occasional flirty dress. I'm in love.
Victoria Beckham
My BFF gave us an insight into her take on glamourous sportswear. A more complex and evolved affair then her beautiful hourglass dresses. This collection introduced us to an athletic mood, with Victoria Beckham's signature touches. Pops of orange, brightened up the navy tone on show. Dresses were still fitted in some cases but given the dynamic addition of utility straps. The outerwear was delightful, especially in the clay and slate tones. Her expanding bag collection and pointy Christian Louboutins (some flats) were the perfect accompaniment.
Diane von Furstenberg
This was a very uplifting and positive collection. There were prints galore, with the floral reigning supreme. The prints weren't my favourite part of the collection, it all got a bit too much. The opening looks were in white and featured an oversized white shirt, with paperbag waist skirt. The pieces, were cool and summery and very easy to wear. The tailored looks were stunning and ensured a diversity amongst the pieces.
DKNY
Against the back drop of a NYC Yellow Taxi, topped with a DKNY ad, Donna Karan showed her latest collection. The looks came in different colour stories, monochrome, denim (which, featured a lovely denim tux dress), an eye-catching red and blue poppy print and some soft tweeds. A smudgy floral print looked gorgeous also. The collection was perfect for summer chic.
Thakoon
When India meets the Wild West... this is what you get. By the end of the collection, I was rather overwhelmed... but it did seem to work. The gorgeous paisley prints were the stars of the show. I loved the stunning blue tone with orange appliqué detailing. The trench coat with the stunning detail was one of my favourite looks. But, if anyone can pull-off a culture clash it is Thakoon.
Alexander Wang
The mesh looks were worn with bright layers underneath, hands in pockets and wet-look hair. There was a tough and urban feel, which we love about Wang. There was a biker/racer girl theme here, his take on the sportswear trend, which is a signature of his. Of course, Wang added a clever and thought-provoking take on the trend. Dark floral prints were given volume with oversized pockets and peplums, and turned into oversized biker jackets complete with helmets.
