Chanel
Chanel is the epitome of my every fashion fantasy. Timeless style and elegance. The collection for spring was the epic and fantastical, as only Chanel can do. It was signature Chanel, no gimmicks just style. Distressed monochrome and classic tweed suits were given a twist and oozed perfection. Fringing, tassels, florals, feathers and even a toddler floated through the Grand Palais. I adored the tweed hotpants and shift dresses.
Alexander McQueen
Fashion will never be the same without McQueen. His memorial service at LFW was a testament to that fact. Sarah Burton took over the helm and showed us a lighter personality in the McQueen woman. She did a magnificent job too. The shapes and silhouettes synonymous with McQueen were all there but in an optimistic and less restricted fashion. Dramatic prints were paired with corseted triple belts. Military coats and broderie anglaise also played their part. This is a new chapter in the McQueen story, and it was a breathtaking first act.
Christian Dior
If we want to a Dior girl come spring, we shall be donning sailor hats and white parkas. This is a fresher Dior minus the theatrics that we love. There were nautical hints, and the collection had a feel of a very gorgeous holiday wardrobe. The looks were feminine, flirty, tropical and deliciously fun. The sheer, printed long gowns screamed summer sensuality.
Valentino
Pretty dress perfection at Valentino. The design details were cute, flirty and feminine. Dots, bows and ruffles in gorgeous sheers, were softly sensual. The entire collection would be perfect for that cocktail party. Every girl may not need a cocktail dress, but every girl needs a Valentino dress.
Elie Saab
I do likey a bit of Elie Saab and I very much likey this collection. Ok, enough with the Sex and The Cityness. I'm not sure which pastel shade I am more in love with, the coral or the duck egg? A plethora of pretty pastels featured in the collection. With Elie Saab, you are guaranteed red-carpet-worthy dresses, and this is exactly what we got. There was a great balance of fluidity and structure with stunning gowns and shift dresses. I adored the sheer blouse and shorts combo with the enviably, sparkly jacket. I need the rose gold gown in my life... immediately.
Louis Vuitton
Marc Jacobs encapsulated, nearly everything is this extravaganza of a collection. There was a distinct taste of the orient, with the oriental dresses and jackets. The 20's flapper dresses, were absolutely stunning. Animal prints, glitter, florals... it all oozed warped decadence, in a way only Mr Jacobs can portray.
Hermes
Au Revoir to Jean Paul Gaultier at Hermes. You have to love equestrian inspired dressage from Hermes. He gave us this with jodhpurs, exquisite tailoring, black leather that screamed sex appeal and of course, a Birkin or two. The movement of some of the more fluid pieces proved to be a great juxtaposition with the restricted details. Gaultier will be sorely missed... but, he left on more than a high.
Miu Miu
I idolise Miuccia Prada, hence why I adore Miu Miu. Eww, I never say hence, I take that back. Miuccia gave us glamour, fame and fortune. Pleated dresses showed off an array of colour and texture. Star prints enhanced the starry eyed moments of the fame theme. This collection proved that neon will be a trend to watch for spring. I loved the metallics and leather which gave a rock n roll vibe. Love.
Lanvin
My love for Lanvin is indescribable. Alber Elbaz always shows what women dream and wish they could wear. This season, he showed what women can and will wear. Beautiful as always.
Viktor & Rolf
Is it wrong, that I may want to get married in this?
